5/16 Relay 4 Life at the Cal Ripkin Experience. (Yes,
I know that it is bike week. I am going to make a sacrifice for this
worthy cause. However, I am substituting the Rally in
Nags Head for the usual bike week phestivities.)
5/17 Post Party???? (Suggestions)
Walk at the event, Buy a Sign for your business, Donate
a service or product for a silent auction, Help with food at the
campsite, Help set up the campsite, Show up at the events and spend $$$
on the Swag at the Silent Auctions, Buy a 50/50 ticket, volunteeer for
the Relay as a musician or DJ, Help with the grill at the campsite, Run
the games for the kids at midnight, Solicite food for the event, be a
fundraiser (requires registration with
American Cancer Society), or just show up and support the team.
I want a T-Shirt from ACS, but I really don't want
to fundraise?
Please don't register a as a fundraiser unless you
intend to fundraise. This will throw our team numbers off. I'd rather
buy you a T-Shirt or better yet, sell you one. I think we still have
some of our shirts from last year.
At the event. I need a track manager volunteer. If
each parrothead on the walking squad will pick a time to be there and
show up and walk. We really appreciate those that commit to the "WEE"
hours of the norning. While we want to show our strength in the initial
lap team lap, we have a tradition of walking all night. The track
manger should commit to being there all night.
Yes. We pitch a tent and stay the night. Bring a
chair too.
Who is in charge of this mess?
Howie Weinberg returns as the event chairman.
President Christine and I are the Co-Captains. Trina Ward, Jay Moseley,
Mishelle Williams and Jeff Long are the Poker Run Committee so far.
Melany Mader is the ACS contact. Melanie Jacobs is the auction chair
for Relay 4 Life. Kathy Jacobs at my office is the Administrative
assistant making this happen from the paperwork standpoint. (She is
also a cancer survivor)
With
a schoolboy heart,
